Flow State Art Group

Flow State

An art group for neuro-divergent women who flow in Fremantle.

Flow State is about being fully present in a supportive, low-pressure space where you can create, connect, and gently build balance in daily life.
As women, our energy naturally ebbs and flows – across the menstrual cycle, through sensory experiences, and in response to the people and environments around us. This group is designed to honor those rhythms, rather than push against them.
Facilitated by Atiya Burrow Ali, occupational therapist with strong interest in artistic expression and life experience as a woman with ADHD and hormonal challenges.

Who can attend?

Flow State is a group for neuro-divergent women of all ages.
Flow State is all about art for art’s sake with no artistic experience required.

NDIS participants are billed under Capacity Building. A signed service agreement must be submitted prior to the group commencing.

For those using private health insurance, the sessions are billed under Occupational Therapy group therapy code (please check your individual policy for rebates).

Our First Creative Focus

We’ll begin with coil weaving, using recyclable and natural materials. This is process-focused, sensory-friendly making.

All materials will be provided, but if you’d like, you’re welcome to bring:

  • A favorite piece of fabric, yarn, or beads
  • Old sheets, plastic bags, or power leads you’d like to recycle
  • Natural materials such as lemon grass, palm leaves, or plant fibers suitable for weaving

You’re encouraged to work at your own pace, follow your curiosity, and adapt materials to suit your sensory preferences.
