Mindfulness and Relaxation Training

 “Mindfulness and Relaxation Training” is a group course facilitated by our experienced  Occupational Therapist Sasha Wray.  This high quality training teaches Acceptance & Commitment Therapy principles, mindfulness meditation and relaxation skills for everyday living.

Running as a weekly rolling program every Wed 1.00 – 2.00 pm you are welcome to attend casually or enrol for the full 6 weeks.

A maximum of 6/class ensures that you benefit from a supportive group learning environment.

What is taught in this course?

Introduction to Mindfulness is a FREE session which gives an overview of the program. Learn why relaxation training is so important for mindful living, discover the neuro-science behind mindfulness and the power of plasticity. Experience the Mindful Inner Smile Meditation.

Each session begins with breath awareness, a gentle way to reconnect with our self and what is important. We review ‘homework’, discuss the topic of the day, practice meditations or other mindfulness strategies.

Other topics covered include:

  • What is relaxation vs. stress
  • Mindfulness techniques for everyday living
  • Learn the 7 stages of relaxation and how to progress from complete novice to self mastery
  • Practical tools to combat stress
  • How to set meaningful goals and achieve them
  • Understanding the neuro-science related to life experience
