Carleen provides women’s health and pain management occupational therapy a Next Wave Therapy.

As an Occupational Therapist, Carleen helps people develop skills for meaningful living. Her combination of Pilates and Occupational Therapy give her a unique set of skills as a movement therapist with a holistic approach. She recognizes that there are many factors that contribute to everyone’s pain and injury experience.

Her strong communication skills enable her to listen to each individual’s story in order to create a personalized treatment plan. She empowers individuals to have autonomy in managing their own health by incorporating personal motivation, facilitating joy in the process of rehabilitation, and implementing strategies to sustain resilience through life.

Carleen has been heavily involved in physical activity her whole life as a national level competitive swimmer from a young age through to the end of her university degree. Although her athletic career was mostly enjoyable and rewarding, she experienced numerous injuries and setbacks that impacted her physical and emotional well-being. When she added Therapeutic Pilates to her training regime, she noticed significant improvements in injury management and prevention.

Carleen’s passion for movement and nature are what brought her to Western Australia. Her primary hobbies are swimming (particularly in the ocean), and beekeeping- two activities that she can enjoy every day of the year in WA.
